National Pool Lifeguard Qualification - NPLQ Course FREE – no charge. Course to be at Caterham School during Half Term There has been an amazing response to our notice and the course for February half term is now full up. So... Together with Brighton Swimming Teachers Centre and Caterham School we are really pleased to say we have arranged further courses for the following dates: Easter Holidays: 6-10 April 2010 The aim of this course is to attain a comprehensive range of life guarding skills, required within a leisure centre facility. Candidates must be able to:
The NPLQ course now consists of a Foundation Module and a Site Specific Module, both of which are included in the following course. However if your workplace is somewhere other than the course venue you will be required to do the site specific training for that pool. This would be presented by the Staff Training Manager during your Induction or Staff Training Day at your workplace.The candidates must be 16 years old prior to the commencement of the course. On the day of the exam each candidate needs to bring with them a friend to act as a casualty. The casualty must be able to swim in deep water. This course requires 100% attendance. No refunds will be given either prior to the start or during the course. If you would like to join this course, please write to info@aquariusswimming.co.uk and we will ask for a cheque for £50 while we hold a space. If you fail to show up for the first day of the course your cheque will be cashed, if you attend, it will be either given back to you, or torn up. |

NRASTC – RESCUE TEST FOR TEACHERS OF SWIMMING One day course – Hurst Green, Surrey A one day course for Teachers and Coaches of Swimming with previous experience in Lifesaving. For Aquarius Swimming Club teachers and assistant teachers, the cost of this course is £30 for the day, for those who would like to join in and are not teaching for Aquarius there is a fee of £70 for the day’s course. Bronze Cross and Silver Cross – Open Water Exams Warm congratulations to swimmers who braved the freezing cold water conditions, goose and duck poo, mud and feathered spectators – who at times became a local hazard so curious they were at these strange people swimming in their lake, wearing clothes and brightly coloured hats. So congratulations to: Natasha Bruce, Tessa McRae, Jenny Cannon, Alex Little, Gareth Petit, Claire Stevens, Katherine Stevens, Ellie Mortensen, Ben Nichols, Jamie Price, Natasha Anderson, Mark Barratt, Abigail Skinner, Laura Rush, Alice Findley, Andrew Petit, Connel Binnie, George Noble, Catherine Bamber, Katherine Hamilton, Harriet Flanders, Louise Kidger, Katie Daly, Zoe Bell Thank you also for braving the water more than twice to be bodies to help one another out. Feedback from the Examiners was that they were very happy at a very good standard. Lots of thanks to Teachers Amanda Bergs and Charlotte Harmer – who went well beyond the call of duty to support all the swimmers. Lots of thanks also to Alison Angiolini and Ray Jordan for coming along to be our examiners. We are really looking for to everyone taking their Distinction exams as this School Year moves on. This really will be our record year. |
