SPONSOR AN OPEN WATER SWIM FOR DIABETES UK
This is Hazel Ralph, swimming teacher. Hazel has been teaching for Aquarius Swimming Club since the 1980s and she is a really keen and very good swimmer who loves to take on challenges.

Here she is training to take part in the Great British Gas Open Water one mile challenge which will be taking place at the Royal Victoria Docks in London on July 3rd. The water will be very cold at between 10–15 degrees centigrade – and she will be wearing a wet suit to help her to stay warm.

Hazel is swimming to raise money for Diabetes UK, and so if you any want to sponsor her efforts, can you let us know by email and we can pass it on. We can take donations at the Swimming Club, if you put your money into an envelope and mark it 'Hazel Ralph's swim', we can pass it onto her.
UPDATE:
We are delighted to report that Hazel completed her swim and had a wonderful day!
Hazel says:"I did it!! Was a great day. Finish time was 46 min.25 secs. Overall position out of 5,000 was 2,514, 4th in Age Group and 2nd in Age Group and Gender (but do not know how many oldens were swimming). Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and it certainly was a challenge, especially the last 400m where the water was more choppy. Thank you very much for the Club sponsoring me, so far have raised just over £200 for Diabetes UK."
We are so pleased! Anyone wanting to donate please let Aquarius know!
