| Aquarius teaches lifesaving skills to swimmers from around 9 years old, promoting water safety and turning bystanders into lifesavers.
We use recognised water safety programmes (NARS and ROOKIE) to introduce the basic skills, following a structured badge scheme.
Each summer a group of lifesavers take their Bronze and Silver Open Water Awards in the Thames. To offset the often freezing water, we take a picnic and make a day of it.
Aquarius supports the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, with participants able to undertake a Skills or Community Section by attending lifesaving classes with us.
Aquarius also trains new lifesaving teachers, leading to a professional qualification, and provides National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC) training.
NPLQ – Aquarius supports NPLQ courses at Caterham School, we are able to link up our swimmers with good courses if they are interested.
